Region: Bordeaux, France
Grape varietal: Merlot
Alc: 12%
The Producer
Chateau Pilet is a family owned estate. For over five generations, the Queyrens tamily has been producing small quantities of honest wines, true to the Bordeaux terroir and the family's dedication to quality. Pilet sits in Donzac, in the Entre-Deux-Mers region (literally between-two-seas, because of the two rivers that frame the area). The vineyards are planted on rolling hills with a wide variety of soils, perfect sun exposure and natural drainage.
Tasting Notes
Bouquet of grapefruit, mandarin and hints of roses. The merlot contributes a certain density, yet the wine is bone dry, light-bodied and with crisp and refreshing acidity.
Pairings
Works great with goat cheese salads, grilled vegetables and barbecued pork/chicken/fish.
