Region: Languedoc, France
Grape varietals: Pinot Noir
Alc: 13.5%
The Producer
Bruno Lafon was born in Meursault, Burgundy, in the family estate of Domaine Des Comtes Lafon, a small but legendary producer of very high-end Burgundian wines. It goes without saying that he has an exceptional understanding of Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays. In Languedoc he found a new frontier with perfect climate and soils to develop several cuvées of top-quality wines without the excessive cost of land now found in Burgundy.
Tasting Notes
Young and expressive style of Pinot Noir. Bouquet of cherries, eucalyptus and berries. Its refreshing acidity gives it a nice backbone. Very pale and light-bodied. The ideal summer Pinot.
Pairings
Good pairings: Charcuterie, ham and other cold meats. Patés and terrines. Classic French dishes with light creamy sauces such as rabbit or kidneys with a mustard sauce. Goat cheese. Grilled asparagus. Spring vegetables such as peas.
